Enjoyed your webinar the othehttp://hydernet.co.ukr night, you pretty much covered what I thought you would, as a Canon user, I am using pocket wizards, so I was interested in how you get on using the infra system, as I used to use the canon infra red trigger and found it a bit hit and miss, especially over longer distances.

Thank you for the webinar last Friday. It was very comprehensive and although I use off camera flash regularly, it was good to cover the basics again and learn new things.

Firstly congratulations on the completion of your first successful Webinar. Judging by the number of questions that you had there is clearly an interest in what you are doing. So look forward to more of the same, of which I would be happy to join. I was fortunate to see your demonstrations for Nikon at Focus last year, which I found valuable. The Webinar covered some of the same ground.

In future, I would like to see something on Portraiture and Studio Work, and it would be nice to include Video of some of your shoots.

Firstly thank you Oz I really enjoyed that. I was very impressed with the actual webinar, you came through very clear and there were no break up’s in the transmission, I only mention it because some webinars I have taken part in fell down on tech issues.
I look forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed the webinar… your not talking talking to your laptop… we’re all listening.

I’d love to hear about some marketing ideas. I’m getting some bookings from my website but I want to learn marketing to boost this.

Would this be something you’d do a webinar on?

Keep up the great work.. cheers

    Great Webinar!

I enjoyed learning how you use your flashgun remotely and have inspired me to use mine more at future weddings.

Unfortunately Canon don’t allow any remote manual adjustments of the flashguns – you have to set them on the flashgun. I’ve just double checked the ST-2E manual, which confirms this. Wouldn’t it be great if we could just tell it to give us our desired f number :-) But it is possible to use flash as fill or key light with compensation, so just need to work a little differently that you. I thought this may be of interest to you for future seminars.

I was interested to learn you use an umbrella a lot. I bought a cheap soft-box but found it cumbersome. An umbrella fits in the same bag as light stand so is very easy.

I’ve discovered out of necessity at a couple of recent weddings that it is possible to create a natural looking light with on camera flash. Bride and groom were seated in front of bright window for signing register. Without flash they were either silhouetted or washed out by window light. I produced nice natural images with camera exposure at +1 and flash at 0, if I remember correctly. And to my surprise, I had no problems with chromatic aberration.

My last wedding was raining so I used remote flashgun indoors to create directional light for the B&G and group photos. Using it on a slightly negative compensation avoid shadows but produced enough light to create a short lighting pattern on the bride. Relied on ambient with high ISO for majority of light.

Hope you don’t mind me sharing recent experiences with you. They seem to be exceptions to the general rules and I’d be interested to know how you’d cope with similar difficult scenarios on a future seminar.

I found the webinar to be an excellent way to attend a training session, I really enjoyed it, the hints and tips were great and seeing examples of how you set up makes it very easy to visualise. Your photos are truly excellent. I especially liked the fact that we could ask questions as we went along. I hope I get the chance to come on to more of your future webinars. Many thanks.
