Portraits on-location

We will use portable lighting kit for off-camera flash techniques to create images with the ‘wow’ factor. You will learn and understand :

why it’s very important to have the right ratio between flash & ambient light,
metering flash / ambient light
how to meter without a flash meter!
how to use flash as a main light as well as a fill light
use of umbrella or soft box or bare bulb?

Everything you need to learn on how to take portraits on-location will be covered during a session with a model on-loation.

How To Generate Leads

Many photographers struggle to generate leads at an affordable cost. They spends hundreds if not thousands on wasteful advertising in magazines and exhibiting at fairs & shows with zero results. During this day, you will see why it is important to concentrate on your local community and businesses which will bring in a variety of family portraits and commercial work.

You will learn how to market your business to the local community at extremely low cost and how to convert these leads to paying customers. Once you have a database of leads, you will then learn how to market to them via email marketing, direct mail and by setting up a telesales person who will make calls to the local businesses for appointments & bookings. You will also see & learn why it is so important to have scripts for incoming & outgong calls for each of the services you provide i.e family portaits, commercial headshots, weddings, baby portaits, etc. Even if you work from home, this little system will transform your business to greater heights and higher profits.

The best & easiest way to promote your business is to get other businesses to promote you and send you customers. This is what we call ‘referrals’. You will learn how to set up very low cost ‘referral schemes’ with local businesses and how they will promote you and make money at the same time by sending clients to you. About the presenter…

Uzair Kharawala is a full-time professional photographer. He runs SF Digital Photography with his wife Farzana and is also the creator of the award-winning photography studio management software Foto SF . Uzair has photographed & given seminars in various countries including Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Malaysia, Malta, Cyprus, Ireland & Denmark.

He has been an ‘Evangelist’ for Nikon for the past 5 years and is a regular ‘Guest Speaker’ at major photography conventions & trade shows.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is free parking at our studios.

What do I need to bring to the event?
You need to bring your DSLR camera & lens. It doesn’t matter which make or model you use, you will be supplied with the relevant flash to use.
